Liga BBVA: FC Barcelona launch selfie contest in Camp Nou to bring in tourists

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) launched a contest on the social photo- and video-sharing site Instagram on 03/07/2014. The club is inviting its fans to upload selfies taken at Camp Nou accompanied by the hashtag #campnouexperience.

This initiative is named "Your best moments to share in Barcelona". The goal is "to make the Camp Nou and the FC Barcelona Museum must-see [destinations] for tourists this summer", said FC Barcelona on 10/07/2014. FC Barcelona have also launched a microsite on their official website ranking the selfies according to the number of likes received during the day, week and month.

Once per month until 30/09/2014 the selfies with the most likes on Instagram will win free official shirts from the club.

  • FC Barcelona also published a video in which the club challenges a group of tourists to enjoy a "memorable experience" without giving them any more details. Those who accepted got a private visit to the stadium and the club's museum.
