Tokyo 2020: Coca-Cola's activation programme promoting diversity and inclusion

The Coca-Cola Company proposed a series of initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games on 24/07/2021.

Coca-Cola, a partner of the Olympic Movement since the 1928 Amsterdam Games, "selected a diverse group of placard bearers to lead out the athlete delegations during the Opening Ceremony," said the IOC on 24/07/2021. Coca-Cola, which is also a partner of the Olympic Torch Relay, is committed until the 2032 Brisbane Olympics - 104 years of continuous partnership.

"Following a month-long recruitment process, which saw Coca-Cola receive applications from people of all ages across Japan, members of the public were chosen to lead out each Olympic team during the traditional Parade of Nations," explained the organising body of the Games.
