The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) "has concluded the precautionary procedure regarding certain clauses of the agreement between TIM and DAZN for the viewing of Serie A matches during the three-year period 2021-2024. In the Authority's view, in light of the measures presented by the two operators, there are currently no grounds to intervene," said the AGCM on 27/07/2021.

DAZN has signed a partnership with the telecoms operator Telecom Italia (for its TIM brand) for the acquisition of the broadcasting rights to the Serie A TIM in Italy, for €840m per season, over the 2021-2024 cycle. Telecom Italia would provide 40% of the payments foreseen by DAZN for TIM to be "the reference telephone and pay-TV operator for the DAZN content offering in Italy as well as for the technological partnership."

The pay-TV operator Sky Italia, which failed to sign a distribution agreement with DAZN, contested the agreement between DAZN and TIM before the AGCM on 22/06/2021.
