Canal+ Group: 8.9 million subscribers in France as of 30/06/2021 (+349,000 in one year)

The French pay-TV and free-to-air group Canal+ had a total subscriber base of 8.906 million in mainland France as of 30/06/2021, according to the half-yearly financial results published by its parent company Vivendi on 28/07/2021. This number of subscribers is up by 349,000 compared to 30/06/2020 and by 228,000 compared to 31/12/2020.

In the first half of 2021, Canal+ Group's turnover amounted to €2.782bn, up 4.7% at constant currency and perimeter rates compared to the first half of 2020. Revenues from television in mainland France increased by 1.7% at constant currency and perimeter. International television revenues increased by 4.4% at constant currency and perimeter, thanks to the significant increase in the subscriber base (+1.4 million in one year).

Adjusted operating profit (EBITA) after restructuring charges amounted to €330m, compared to €300m for the same period in 2020 (+10% at constant currency and perimeter).
