Bundesliga: Telefonica (Movistar+) extends its TV rights in Spain until 2023-24

Telefonica, the telecommunications operator, has extended its Bundesliga TV rights in Spain for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 10/08/2021. The matches will be accessible via the Movistar+ pay-TV channels (Movistar+ Liga de Campeones and #Vamos).

This agreement was announced in April 2021 by the Spanish business website Vozpópuli, which reported that Telefonica, in competition with the OTT platform DAZN, had renegotiated its rights downwards by 10 to 15%, without specifying the value of the agreement.

On Matchday 1 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season (13-15/08/2021), Movistar+ Liga de Campeones will broadcast five matches live and one of them, Borussia Mönchengladbach - FC Bayern Munich, will also be shown on #Vamos.
