ExclusiveSponsorship: Messi, football's 2^nd best earner in terms of revenue after Ronaldo, ahead of Neymar Jr

Lionel Messi, who signed a two-year contract (2021-2023 + 1 optional additional season) with Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on 10/08/2021, generated $130m (€109m) in revenue in 2020-21, according to an annual ranking by the US media company Forbes published on 04/06/2021. The Parisian club's new player received $97m (€81.5m) in wages and $33m (€27.7m) in sponsorship revenue over the 2020-21 season.

In terms of sponsorship revenue, Lionel Messi (34) is second only to Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo ($50m, €42m) among footballers. Neymar Jr, another Paris Saint-Germain player, was ranked third place with $19m (€16m) in sponsorship revenue in 2020-21.

The Argentine international with more than 350 million followers on social networks is the ambassador of many international brands, including Hard Rock (USA, hotels), PepsiCo (USA, beverages, food), Mengniu (CHN, dairy products), Budweiser (USA, beer) and eFootball (JPN, Konami, video games).
