"For the broadcasters, and especially Amazon, this is very good news, given that their deal is already exceptional (€250m per season for 80% of the rights) compared to what other broadcasters pay elsewhere in Europe. I don't think this mitigates any form of anger on the part of Canal+. They won't drop all the legal actions underway as a matter of business and principle," said Arnaud Simon, CEO and founder of In&Out Stories, a consultancy firm for national and international sports organisations, to News Tank Football on 11/08/2021, in response to Lionel Messi's arrival at Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on 10/08/2021.

The Commercial Court of Nanterre ruled in summary proceedings that Canal+ could not terminate its sub-licensing agreement with beIN Sports for Lot 3 of the broadcasting rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats for the 2020-2024 cycle (2 games per matchday for €332m per season) on 05/08/2021.
