Lega Serie A/TV rights: Sky-DAZN agreement for public establishments, a YouTube channel in MENA

The Lega Serie A has authorised DAZN to sublicense Lot 1 of the domestic broadcasting rights of Serie A TIM over the period 2021-2024 to Sky Italia for non-exclusive broadcasting in public establishments, announced the body on 13/08/2021. The OTT sports platform and the pay-TV group must now obtain the approval of AGCOM and AGCM to ratify the agreement.

Lot 1 consists of the broadcasting rights for all Serie A TIM matches, held by DAZN since 03/26/2021 (see below). Sky Italia acquired the non-exclusive broadcasting rights to 3 out of 10 Serie A TIM matches 2021-2024 (Lot 2) on 15/05/2021. With this agreement, Sky can now offer a package including all matches to public establishments.

Regarding its audiovisual rights in the MENA region, Lega Serie A has decided to proceed with the creation of an Arabic language channel on YouTube, said the body on 13/08/2021. Five fixtures per matchday will be broadcast on the channel.
