Germany/DFL: launch of the "Bundesliga Next" app to expand its digital offer for young audiences

The Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL) has launched "Bundesliga Next", its official mobile application that enables "children and young people to consume Bundesliga content without reservation and in a protected way," announced the body on 13/08/2021.

"This free service is aimed at children and young people aged 10 and over and focuses on video content from the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga. Right from the start, around 2,000 clips are available - with spectacular goals, saves and dribblings. Funny scenes on and off the pitch are just as much a part of the programme as extraordinary video announcements by the stars, a quiz collection and statistics," said the German professional football league.

"In addition to the opportunity to watch Bundesliga content first-hand, the main focus of 'Bundesliga Next' is to provide a safe virtual environment. This concerns the responsible handling of data as well as the deliberate exclusion of direct communication between users.
