LaLiga Santander: BK Sports (betting), regional partner in Asia of 5 Spanish clubs for 2021-22

BK8 Sports, a Maltese sports betting operator specialised in the Asian market, has become a regional partner of Valencia CF, Athletic Club Bilbao, Villarreal CF, RCD Mallorca and Elche CF (LaLiga Santander) for the Asian market for the 2021-22 season, announced the bookmaker on 16/08/2021. BK8 Sports was LaLiga's regional partner for Asia for the 2019-2021 cycle.

These five agreements are only relevant for the Asian market. Indeed, according to a new Royal Decree that came into force for the 2021-22 season, Spanish sports clubs can no longer enter into agreements with gambling operators in Spain.

As part of these partnerships, BK8 will have visibility on the clubs' digital platforms and social networks on the Asian market, and will give gamblers access to promotional offers in that region. The bookmaker is also in discussions with other European clubs "so we can continue on this positive trajectory," said Michael Gatt, managing director Europe of BK8.
