2022 Africa Cup of Nations: opening match Cameroon - Burkina Faso in Yaoundé (CAM), on 09/01/2022

Cameroon, the host country, will face Burkina Faso in the opening match of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021 on Sunday 09/01/2022 at the Stade Olembé in Yaoundé (CAM) at 17:00 (local time / CET), announced the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the final draw, held in Yaoundé on 17/08/2021.

The 24 participating teams were divided into six groups:
• Group A: Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cape Verde.
• Group B: Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Malawi.
• Group C: Morocco, Ghana, Comoros, Gabon.
• Group D: Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea-Bissau.
• Group E: Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast.
• Group F: Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Gambia.

The African Cup, initially scheduled for 2021, was rescheduled by CAF to 2022, due to Covid-19, on 30/06/2020. The competition however retains the name "Cameroon 2021".

• Round of 16 from 23 to 26/01/2022.-
• Quarter-finals on 29 and 30/01/2022.
• Semi-finals on 02 and 03/02/2022.
• Match for third place and final on 06/02/2022.
