The Premier League had the highest percentage of high-intensity runs (at more than 19.8 km/h) out of the total distance covered by players (7.82%) in the 2020-21 season, according to the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) Football Observatory's Weekly Post published on 16/08/2021.

CIES presents physical data on players from 28 leagues around the world, produced by Paris-based company SkillCorner.
