Spain: Telefonica (Movistar+) extends Serie A TIM TV rights for the 2021-2024 cycle

Telefonica has extended its exclusive TV rights to the Serie A TIM for Spain (via Infront) for the 2021-2024 cycle, said the Spanish telecommunications operator on 18/08/2021, three days before the start of the 2021-22 Serie A TIM season.

As they were during the previous cycle, the matches will be broadcast on the channels of its Movistar+ pay-TV bouquet. Telefonica had acquired these TV rights "from 22/02/2019," on 20/02/2019. 

Telefonica has also extended, for Spain, its TV rights to the Bundesliga for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 10/08/2021. The matches are accessible via Movistar+ channels (Movistar+ Liga de Campeones and #Vamos).

• The Lega Serie A "Lega Nazionale di professionisti di Serie A". Professional League which manages the Italian first division and including its 20 clubs.  allocated the international rights to the Serie A TIM (excluding the USA and the MENA zone) to Swiss media and marketing rights agency Infront over the 2021-2024 cycle, on 01/04/2021.
  • These international rights were acquired for €139m per season, according to Italian media.
