Serie A TIM: all you need to know about the 20 clubs competing in the 2021-22 season

FC Inter Milan, the 2020-21 Serie A TIM champions, will put their title on the line again from Saturday 21/08/2021, when the 2021-22 Italian championship season kicks off.

The Milanese club will do everything in its power to retain its title against ambitious opponents, starting with Juventus FC, winners of the nine previous titles. Atalanta BC and AC Milan will join these two clubs in the group stage of the Champions League. SSC Napoli and SS Lazio have qualified for the Europa League, while AS Roma are hoping to compete in the newly created Europa Conference League, provided they win a two-legged play-off (2-1 win over Trabzonspor in the first leg on 19/08/2021, second leg on 26/08/2021).

Most importantly, the Serie A is entering a new TV rights cycle from this new season. Its domestic broadcasting rights have been allocated for a total of €927.5m per year for the 2021-2024 period, down €45.5m (-4.7%) on the previous cycle (2018-2021). The international rights for the Italian championship allegedly amount to €139m per season, according to the Italian press.
