Serie A TIM: Amazon (e-commerce), SSC Napoli's first sleeve sponsor (2021-2023)

Amazon, an American e-commerce website, has become a sleeve sponsor of SSC Napoli (Serie A TIM) for two seasons (2021-2023), announced the Italian club on 21/08/2021. The deal is SSC Napoli's first-ever sleeve sponsorship agreement.

Amazon will pay €2m per year to the Neapolitan club, according to Italian media. The American giant's logo will be worn during Napoli's league matches as well as at European matches - the club has qualified for the 2021-22 Europa League. SSC Napoli has had an official store on Amazon's platform for five markets (Italy, France, Germany, UK and Spain) since 18/06/2018.

This marks the American group's first shirt sponsorship deal for a club playing in the European Top 5. Amazon's Chinese competitor Alibaba Group, via its e-commerce platform AliExpress, had signed sleeve sponsorship agreements with Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) and Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander) for the end of the 2020-21 season, however, these agreements have not been renewed for 2021-22.
