Italy: Serie A YouTube channel passes the 7 million subscribers mark

The official Serie A YouTube account now has over 7 million subscribers, "confirming its status as the most followed football league on the platform," announced the Italian professional football league on 24/08/2021.

"During the first Matchday of the Serie A TIM (20-23/08/2021) alone, there was an increase of 241,486 registered users on the channel, with a growth of 3.5%. In the same period, the numbers in terms of views were also very strong, with 11,955,899 total views and 4 million unique viewers for all videos uploaded and the live broadcasts of 5 matches (exclusively in the MENA region)," explained the body.

The Lega Serie A had initially launched a tender for the audiovisual rights of the Italian championship in the MENA region for the 2021-2024 cycle on 15/01/2021, in which beIN Sports had not participated. It eventually decided to broadcast, exclusively in this area, five games per Serie A TIM Matchday on YouTube, as announced on 13/08/2021.
