Matchday 3 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season drew an average of 17,655 spectators per game, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29/08/2021. The average fill rate was just 39%.

These very low figures, unusual in the German championship, can be explained by the limited capacities (from 30 to 50% depending on the stadium) imposed by the public authorities in all German regions due to the health crisis relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.

FC Bayern Munich - Hertha Berlin (5-0), 1.FC Köln - VfL Bochum (2-1), Borussia Dortmund - TSG Hoffenheim (3-2) and VfB Stuttgart - SC Freiburg (2-3) posted the best attendances on Matchday 3, with 25,000 spectators each.

The average attendance of the Bundesliga reached 15,902 spectators per game after 3 matchdays, for an average fill rate of 36.6%.
