ReportCalcio 2021: revenue from Italian professional football down 11.1% in 2019-20 due to Covid-19

Total revenue from Italian professional football decreased by €434m (-11.1%) in 2019-20, from €3.897bn to €3.463bn, with the significant impact of lower ticketing revenue (-€75m), according to the 11^th edition of ReportCalcio presented by the FIGC on 26/08/2021.

The decrease in wage costs (-€112m) was not enough to compensate for the decline in revenue, mainly due to an increase in depreciation (+€222m), notes the Italian Football Federation's annual economic report.

Total losses that increased from €412m in 2018-19 to €878m in 2019-20 (+113.1%), total debt that increased by €490m to €5.3bn and a net treasury that deteriorated (nearly €1.3bn less for 2019-20), were the other main figures concerning Italian professional football in the ReportCalcio 2021.
