Covid-19/UEFA: special rules for European competitions

"UEFA has set out a series of special rules for the group stages of the Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa Conference League, as well as the Women's Champions League and the Youth League in light of the ongoing pandemic in Europe," announced the European body on 31/08/2021.

"In view of the current and on-going extraordinary context linked to the pandemic and, in particular, the ongoing existing difficulties to travel between certain UEFA member associations, the specific and rigorous process, which was used throughout the past season and the qualification phase of this seasons' UEFA club competitions, will also be applicable for the relevant stages of the 2021-22 season as well," explained UEFA.

"This will allow the UEFA administration to closely monitor any potential travel and quarantine restrictions and obligations throughout Europe.
