Bundesliga: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 18 clubs (September 2021)

The 18 clubs competing in the 2021-22 Bundesliga season have nearly 142 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/09/2021.

The Bundesliga is now the least followed European Top 5 championship on these three social networks combined. The Ligue 1 Uber Eats (155 million fans, for 20 clubs) overtook the German league during summer 2021 following FC Schalke 04's relegation to the 2.Bundesliga (nearly 5 million fans of the club are no longer counted) and the arrival of Lionel Messi in the French championship (+15 million fans for Paris Saint-Germain in August 2021). The German league has an average of 7.9 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich remain the most-popular German club with nearly 87 million fans, far ahead of Borussia Dortmund with 33 million. Bayer 04 Leverkusen complete the podium with just over 4.6 million fans.

Bayern was the club that experienced the best growth in absolute value during August 2021, with 910,448 additional fans, 88% of them on Instagram alone.
