Premier League: Liverpool FC to open several academies in China, including one in Beijing from 2022

Liverpool FC (Premier League), in partnership with the Li Sheng football centre network (see below), will launch several academies for children aged 5 to 16 in three provinces of China (Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei), announced the club on 02/09/2021. The first academy will open in 2022 in Nanhaizi, south of Beijing, and will host "hundreds of children and coaches each week."

"The project's mission is to develop the participants both on and off the pitch; encouraging them to get active and improve their football skills, while also improving important skills in everyday life, such as character, teamwork, confidence and integrity. Through the unique coaching methods of Liverpool FC, there will also be a focus on educating the young participants in the history, culture and traditions of the beautiful game. Local coaches will also be involved and will benefit from a comprehensive coach education scheme," explained the Merseyside club.
