Environment: Tottenham-Chelsea "world's 1^st elite level net zero carbon football game" on 19/09/2021

The Tottenham Hotspur FC - Chelsea FC match on Sunday 19/09/2021 (kick-off at 16:30 local time, 17:30 CET), "will be branded #GameZero, the world's first net zero carbon football game at an elite level," announced Tottenham Hotspur FC on 06/09/2021. This initiative, in partnership with the British pay-TV operator Sky, is also supported by the Premier League and the United Nations's COP26 Climate Change Conference, due to be held in Glasgow (SCO) from 01 to 12/11/2021.

"For the Chelsea match to be net zero, the club and Sky will work to minimise emissions from matchday activity such as energy used to power the game, travel to and from the stadium for both fans and clubs, and dietary choices at the stadium (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 62,062 capacity). Hundreds of individuals involved in the game - from Sky Sports' producers to our stadium chefs - are working to making #GameZero happen," said the London club, which plans to offset "the remaining carbon footprint through reforestation projects."
