Tennis: Discovery (Eurosport) extends Australian Open TV rights in Europe until 2031

The American broadcasting group Discovery, parent company of the pay-TV group Eurosport, has extended its broadcasting rights to the Australian Open Tennis Championships in Europe until 2031, on 07/09/2021. Eurosport has been broadcasting the Grand Slam tournament since 1995.

"Extending our relationship with the Australian Open on a long-term basis mean we can take this even further, utilising the full breadth and depth of Discovery's global channels, platforms and brands - including Eurosport and our streaming service discovery+ - to work with Tennis Australia and reach new audiences, around new and different stories, to play an even bigger part in helping grow the tournament," said Andrew Georgiou, president of sports at Discovery.

Discovery also holds the European broadcasting rights for the US Open until 2022 (excluding the UK and Ireland), Roland-Garros until 2026 (excluding France) and Wimbledon until 2023 in 11 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Finland, Iceland, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia and Sweden).
