Villarreal CF: partnership with Wakatake Group to develop training in Japan

Villarreal CF (LaLiga Santander) has entered into a partnership with Wakatake Group, a Japanese organisation specialised in the training of young players, focusing on "the development of grassroots football and coach education in Japan" for the 2021-22 season, announced the club on 06/09/2021.

"Villarreal will collaborate with Wakatake Group during the 2021-22 season to promote the development and education of young footballers from Japan. In conjunction with Villarreal Academy, Villarreal CF's international expansion project, the young players will train under the tutelage of coaches from the club at the Yellows' fantastic facilities," said the Spanish club, which will initially host 11 Japanese players.

Wakatake Group is LaLiga's official partner for football development and coach training in Japan until June 2022. The partnership with Villarreal is the second in Spain for the Japanese organisation, which also signed a collaboration agreement with Levante Union Deportiva (LaLiga Santander) on 26/04/2021 (see below).
