Rugby: 2023 World Cup ball to display the names of each of the 10 host cities

The GIP France 2023, the organising body of the Rugby World Cup France 2023, has presented the official ball two years ahead of the competition (to be held from 08/09 to 28/10/2023), on 08/09/2021.

"We wanted to be the Rugby World Cup for the territories, and the official competition ball will be the symbol of this. Our 10 host cities and towns, each represented by a unique signature, will be engraved on it for the first time," explained Claude Atcher, CEO of France 2023.

"This ball symbolises the extraordinary unity between rugby and the ten cities which will host the competition," said Alan Gilpin, CEO of World Rugby. The ball produced by Gilbert, the official supplier of the competition, features the colours of the 'tricolor' (red, white and blue) as well as the logo of the competition.

• Gilbert is the supplier of rugby balls for World Rugby competitions until 2023.
