Spain: Up to 9 2021-22 LaLiga Santander matches broadcast on Twitch via agreement with Mediapro

The streaming platform Twitch (a subsidiary of Amazon) will broadcast up to nine LaLiga Santander matches in Spain in 2021-22, thanks to an agreement with the Spanish League and the Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, announced Gol (Mediapro Group's free DTT channel) on 09/09/2021.

The first match covered by this new agreement is Athletic Club Bilbao - RCD Mallorca (Matchday 4), which will be broadcast on the Twitch channels of Gol, LaLiga and Spanish esports commentator and streamer Ibai Lllanos (7.7 million followers on the platform as of 09/09/2021), on Saturday 11/09/2021 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

A similar agreement was reached for two LaLiga Santander matches during the 2020-21 season: the Basque derby Real Sociedad - Athletic Club Bilbao (Matchday 29), which generated "nearly one million views" on Twitch according to Mediapro, and Real Sociedad - Sevilla FC (Matchday 31).
