China: China Media Group (CCTV) extends Olympic Games TV rights (2026-2032)

China Media Group (CMG), China's leading state-owned media group (founded on 21/03/2018) and parent company of China's state-owned broadcasting group CCTV, has extended its broadcasting rights in China and Macau for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games for the 2026-2032 cycle, on 09/09/2021.

The agreement includes the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina (ITA), the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, the 2030 Winter Games (not yet awarded) and the 2032 Summer Games in Brisbane. The agreement also includes the broadcasting rights for all editions of the Youth Olympic Games until 2032.

CCTV acquired the broadcasting rights to the 2018-2024 Summer and Winter Olympic Games (including the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games) for an estimated $550m (€464m) on 04/12/2014.
