AS Roma: special shirt in support of Afghan people to be worn for match versus Sassuolo (12/09/2021)

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) players will wear a shirt featuring the crest of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in support of the people of Afghanistan "currently in the midst of another severe humanitarian crisis" during the match versus US Sassuolo Calcio (Matchday 3 of the 2021-22 Serie A TIM) at the Stadio Olimpico (Rome, ITA) on Sunday 12/09/2021 (kick-off 20:45 CET), announced the club on 10/09/2021.

"The shirts worn by the players will then be auctioned off for charity, with all proceeds being donated to support UNHCR initiatives and assist the people of Afghanistan. Roma Cares, the club's charity arm, has chosen to embark on this initiative on the 70^th anniversary of the Geneva Convention on Refugees, which enshrined the rights of displaced people in international law. AS Roma will become the first football club to embark on a joint initiative with the UNHCR to help the people of Afghanistan," explained the Italian club.
