United States: 21st Century Fox reorganises TV activities and seeks purchase of Time Warner

The American broadcasting company 21st Century Fox announced the creation of a new entity in the Fox Networks Group on 14/07/2014. The new structure, Fox Television Group, will be led by Gary Newman and Dana Walden, joint-chairmen and CEOs. They will officially take their positions later in July, announced 21st Century Fox, and will report to Peter Rice, CEO of the Fox Networks Group.

Fox Television Group brings together Fox Broadcasting Company and 20th Century Fox Television, that is, all of the broadcasting and TV production for channels in Fox's network in the United States and abroad. Newman and Walden will be in charge of scheduling, marketing and digital activities for Fox's TV channels.

Fox Networks Group, the parent company of Fox Television Group, includes all of Fox's TV activities in the United States and abroad, including FIC (Fox International Channels) and the network of Fox Sports channels. In all, the company owns, outright or via joint-ventures, 44 TV channels in the United States, and distributes, via FIC, more than 300 channels in 48 countries in Latin America…
