2021-22 Bundesliga: attendance for Matchday 4 (16,942 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 4 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season drew an average of 16,942 spectators per game, from Saturday 11 to Sunday 12/09/2021. The average fill rate was just 50.2%.

These very low figures, unusual in the German championship, can be explained by the limited capacities (from 30-50% depending on the stadium in August, from 50-70% approx. since Matchday 4) imposed by the public authorities in all German regions due to the health crisis relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.

RB Leipzig - FC Bayern Munich (1-4) on Saturday 11/09/2021 (kick-off at 18:30 CET) was the game that posted the best attendance on Matchday 4 with 34,000 spectators at the Red Bull Arena (72.2% fill rate). Only three matches drew more than 20,000 spectators.

The average attendance of the Bundesliga reached 16,162 spectators per game after four matchdays, for an average fill rate of 39.4%.
