Tennis: 2021 WTA finals moved from Shenzhen (China) to Guadalajara (Mexico)

The city of Guadalajara (Mexico) will host the 2021 WTA Finals the week of 08/11/2021, according to the body on 13/09/2021. This year-end tournament, which brings together the eight best singles players and eight best doubles players of the season, will return to the city of Shenzhen (China) from 2022 to 2030.

"Guadalajara, the second largest city in Mexico, is considered the cultural center of the country and has hosted various international sporting, film and entertainment events. The city is no stranger to women's tennis, where it also held a successful WTA 250 event in March earlier this year," explained the WTA.

"Due to the pandemic and travel restrictions in China and Japan, the 2021 Asian tour is cancelled. This applies to all events except two tournaments in China - the Shiseido WTA Finals in Shenzhen for which discussions are still ongoing," said the WTA on 01/07/2021.
