2021-22 Champions League: the 32 clubs participating in the group stage will share €2.002bn

€2.002bn is the amount expected to be shared by the 32 European clubs participating in the 2021-22 Champions League group stage, which kicks off on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15/09/2021, according to UEFA circular no. 35/2021 on 20/05/2021 (document available to download).

The net revenue available to participating clubs is divided into four categories (details below). "All figures prior to Covid-19 impact deduction," explained UEFA:
• 1 - Starting fees: 25% (€500.5m).
• 2 - Fixed amounts linked to performance: 30% (€600.6m).
• 3 - Amounts linked to coefficient rankings over 10 years: 30% (€600.6m).
• 4 - Variable amounts linked to the market pool: 15% (€300.3m).

In total, the gross revenue from the 2021-22 Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League + 2021 Super Cup (see below) is estimated at €3.5bn.
