Champions League: head-to-head FC Barcelona - FC Bayern Munich, Tuesday 14/09/2021

With a brand value of €1.266bn, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are ranked second in the "Football 50 2021" ranking published in May 2021 by the American company Brand Finance, a consultancy firm specialised in strategy and brand valuation, while FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), valued at €1.068bn, are fifth place, as the two clubs prepare to face each other on Matchday 1 of Group E of the 2021-22 Champions League at the Camp Nou (Barcelona, Spain), which will be authorised to host around 40,000 people, on Tuesday 14/09/2021 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

Barça also finished ahead of Bayern in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate) as established by the American business magazine Forbes in April 2021. The Catalan club was ranked first ($4.76bn), while its Bavarian rivals were third ($4.215m). It should be noted, however, that both rankings were made before Lionel Messi's departure from Barcelona, an event that is expected to bring down the figures concerning him, according to Brand Finance.
