"We have exceeded 800,000 downloads on iOS and Android (700,000 at the end of the first season, 2020-21). As planned, the Free Ligue 1 app will become a fee-based app on 17/09/2021 only for near-live extracts (up to 30 minutes per match), but it will remain free for Free subscribers (excluding mobile subscribers, €2). All other content, including match highlights and goals, will remain available free of charge," said Frédéric Goyon, head of Free Ligue 1, to News Tank Football on 16/09/2021.

The French telecommunications operator Free holds the rights to broadcast the Ligue 1 Uber Eats near-live (digital lot), over the 2020-2024 cycle, for €42m per season.

"At the beginning of the season, the most followed clubs are, not surprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais.
