2021-22 Bundesliga: attendance for Matchday 5 (18,760 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 5 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season drew an average of 18,760 spectators per match, from Friday 17 to Sunday 19/09/2021. The average fill rate was 36.6%.

These very low figures, unusual in the German championship, can be explained by the limited capacities (from 30-50% depending on the stadium in August, from approximately 50-70% since Matchday 4) imposed by the public authorities in all German regions due to the health crisis relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The FC Bayern Munich - VfL Bochum (7-0), 1.FC Köln - RB Leipzig (1-1) and Borussia Dortmund - 1. FC Union Berlin (4-2) matches each drew 25,000 spectators, the highest attendance figures on Matchday 5.

The average attendance of the Bundesliga reached 16,681 spectators per games after five matchdays, for an average fill rate of 38.7%.
