2021-22 LaLiga Santander: attendance for Matchday 5 (18,542 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 5 of the 2021-22 LaLiga Santander season drew an average of 18,542 spectators per game, from Friday 17 to Monday 20/09/2021. The average fill rate was 42.9%.

Despite the increase in attendance, these figures are still unusually low for the Spanish championship due to the partial capacity imposed since the beginning of the season by the public authorities in all Spanish stadiums as a result of the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the maximum capacity of 40% established at the national level in early August 2021 has been increased to 60% since September, some local authorities have decided to lower this limit: 40% in Catalonia (versus 30% in August) and 30% in the Basque Country (versus 20% previously, noting that the intervention of a judge allowed the Real Sociedad - Sevilla FC match to be played with a 60% capacity in San Sebastian). In Navarre, the Basque province where CA Osasuna play, it was decided to increase the maximum capacity to 60%, whereas it was just 33% for the club's first two home games.
