Premiership Rugby: an audience of over 150 million households in 135 territories in 2021-22

The 2021-22 Gallagher Premiership Rugby season, which kicked off on 17/09/2021, will be broadcast "to a global audience of more than 150 million households in 135 different territories," announced Premiership Rugby the same day.

"Working with media rights agency, Pitch International the new contracts include an exciting new partnership in Australia with Stan (OTT platform), who are the home of rugby in the country. The Australian broadcaster already shows every match of the Super Rugby, The Rugby Championship, Bledisloe Cup, Currie Cup and now all 159 Gallagher Premiership Rugby matches of the 2021-22 season," explained Premiership Rugby.

In the UK, the British telecommunications group BT extended its TV rights to the league for the 2021-2024 cycle on 18/12/2020. The deal is said to be worth £110m (€121m) for the additional three years of the contract, or £36.6m (€40m) per year according to British media.
