Nent: Viaplay platform to be launched in the UK, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland by 2023

Nent group (Nordic entertainment group) will launch its Viaplay paid streaming platform in the UK, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland by 2023, according to the Swedish free and pay TV group on 22/09/2021.

The platform will be available in 16 countries by 2023 and Nent is targeting 12 million subscribers for Viaplay by 2025 (including 6 million in its historical Scandinavian markets). Viaplay is already available in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. It will also be available in the US before the end of 2021, in the Netherlands in 2022, in the UK in the second half of 2022 and in Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2023. Nent had announced in November 2020 that Viaplay would be available in 15 countries by 2023 with an overall target of 10.5 million subscribers. The group has now added an additional market and 1.5 million subscribers to its initial expansion target.
