SL Benfica: academy has generated over €500m in revenue since opening in September 2007

"Since opening its doors in September of 2007, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica academy, Benfica Campus, has developed some of the biggest stars in European football generating more than €500m in revenues," announced SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Bwin) on the occasion of the 15^th anniversary of its academy on 22/09/2021.

"Ruben Dias, João Félix, Bernardo Silva, Renato Sanches, João Cancelo (POR), Ederson (BRA), Jan Oblak (SVN), André Gomes, Nélson Semedo (POR), Victor Lindelöf (SWE) and Gonçalo Guedes (POR) are all a product of Benfica Campus academy. The strong investment made by the club in youth development resulted in several young players reaching some of the top teams of the Big-5 leagues in Europe," explained the Portuguese club, about the Benfica Campus, which has received various awards, "including the Globe Soccer Award for Best Academy of the Year in 2015 and 2019."
