"Canal+ will enter the Austrian TV market in the first quarter of 2022 by partnering with the national operator A1 Telekom Austria, leader in the telecommunications market. Canal+ and A1, via its subsidiary A1 nowTV, have decided to enter into a partnership in order to develop a content offering tailored to the Austrian market," announced the French free and pay-TV group on 22/09/2021.

"Since the acquisition of the M7 platform in 2019, the Canal+ group has been present in Austria via a satellite and internet TV service branded HD Austria. With this partnership, the group aims to create a new content offering based on the distribution strength of A1 and its telephony and broadband services, which have nearly 5.1 million mobile customers and 1.9 million fixed-line customers in Austria," said Canal+.

The Canal+ group has nearly 22 million subscribers worldwide, including 15 million in Europe. "We have set ourselves the goal of reaching a minimum of 30 million subscribers by 2025," said Maxime Saada, president of the board of directors at Canal+ Group, 20/09/2021
