European Top 5: AS Monaco field the youngest team in 2021-22, 6 French clubs in the Top 10 (CIES)

AS Monaco FC (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is the club that has been fielding a team with the lowest average age among the clubs of the European Top 5 leagues since the start of the 2021-22 season, according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post" published on 27/09/2021.

With an average age of 24.3, the Monaco club is ahead of Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Bundesliga, an average age of 24.6) and another French club, AS Saint-Étienne (24.7), who complete the podium. Four other Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs are present in the Top 10: Stade Brestois 29 (4^th, 24.7), Olympique de Marseille (6^th, 24.8), Stade de Reims (8^th, 24.8) and OGC Nice (9^th, 24.9).

Conversely, SS Lazio (Serie A TIM) is the club that has been fielding a team with the highest average age (30.3) so far this season, ahead of Elche CF (LaLiga Santander, 29.9) and UC Sampdoria (Serie A TIM, 29.4).
