Premiership Rugby: Saracens RFC sold to an international consortium, capital to be increased by £32m

A consortium of international investors (see below) has acquired a majority controlling stake in Saracens RFC (Gallagher Premiership Rugby), and will proceed with a £32m capital increase, announced the club on 02/10/2021. This consortium, led by Dominic Silverster, CEO of Entsar Group (insurance), includes Neil Golding, Saracens RFC's current chairman, who will retain his position. Nigel Wray, the club's owner, will keep a minority stake in the club.

"Aside from maintaining the club's position at the top of the men's game, the new funds will be used for a variety of other purposes, including completing the redevelopment of the West Stand; further investment in women's sport; and the establishment of a high performance training centre," said the club, which is returning to the English top flight for the 2021-22 season.
