FC Bayern Munich: Jörg Wacker, board member responsible for internationalisation & strategy, resigns

"Jörg Wacker has resigned from the executive board of FC Bayern München AG (the commercial structure which manages the professional football section of FC Bayern Munich, Bundesliga)," announced the club on 29/09/2021.

"Wacker, 53, joined the German record champions on 01/07/2013 in the newly created position of board member responsible for 'internationalisation and strategy'. During Wacker's tenure, FC Bayern has, among other things, opened its first overseas office in New York (USA) in 2014, followed by its second overseas branch in Shanghai (CHN) in 2016," said the Bavarian club.

"Since November 2015, Wacker has also been in charge of the area of merchandising and licensing. In this role, his responsibilities have included the design of the so-called FC Bayern World (3,500 m2 multifunctional complex: official shop, restaurants, hotel and reception areas), which opened in Munich (GER) city centre last December (2020)," added Bayern Munich.
