Premier League: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (October 2021)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2021-22 Premier League season have more than 598 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/10/2021. This total enables the Premier League to maintain its position as the most popular Top 5 European league, all three social networks combined, ahead of LaLiga Santander, with an average of nearly 30 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with over 151 million fans, followed by Chelsea FC, with more than 97 million and Liverpool FC, with more than 88 million.

The Mancunian club posted the best increase in absolute value during the month of September 2021 with 4.3 million additional follower, including 76% on Instagram alone (+3.3 million). No other club in the European Top 5 performed better over the period.

Manchester United also posted the best percentage growth among the Premier League clubs on Instagram (+7.2%), while the promoted side Brentford FC posted the best growth on Facebook (+3.6%) and Twitter (+2.1%).
