Rugby: Umbro launches its first English women's XV jersey and extends partnership with the RFU

Umbro, an English brand owned by Iconix Brand Group (USA) since 2012, has extended its partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for a further four seasons (2024-2028), announced the body on 06/10/2021.

This partnership renewal comes on the occasion of the presentation of the English national teams' 2021-22 kits. As well as unveiling the England men's team kit, Umbro is also launching the first jersey dedicated the "Red Roses" the England women's national team.

"This is a historic moment and I would like to say a big thank you to Umbro, who have always supported the Red Roses, for giving us the opportunity to have our own jersey and develop our identity even further," said Sarah Bern, Red Roses player and Umbro ambassador.

From the 2020-2024 cycle, Umbro has taken over from the British brand Canterbury, the RFU's equipment supplier for the period 2012-2019 (£5m/€5.6m per year). The deal between the RFU and Umbro is also said to be worth £5m (€5.7m) for the 2020-2024 period.
