Brazil 2014: Temporary tribunals handle 5,260 cases in stadiums and airports

Temporary tribunals handled a total of 5,260 cases in the stadiums and airports of the 12 host cities of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (from 12/06 to 13/07/2014), the Brazilian government said on 23/07/2014.

5,185 cases were dealt with in the airports, principally for information queries and complaints regarding delays or plane cancellations and baggage losses. The temporary tribunals located in the airports of five host cities dealt with 79.8% of the cases: 1,413 cases were dealt with in the airport of Rio de Janeiro (27.3%), 1,313 in Sao Paulo (25.3%), 483 in Brasilia (9.3%), 474 in Curitiba (9.1%) and 456 in Porto Alegre (8.8%).

75 supporters appeared before the temporary tribunals located in the stadiums from 05/06 to 14/07/2014. 48 cases were dealt with in four stadiums, comprising 64% of the total cases dealt with in the stadiums. The Maracanã Stadium (Rio de Janeiro), which hosted seven of the 64 games, had the largest number of cases, dealing with 26 including nine during the final on 13/07/2014.
