LaLiga Santander: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (October 2021)

The 20 clubs in the 2021-22 LaLiga Santander season have 558 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/10/2021. This total makes the Spanish first division the second most popular European Top 5 league on the three social networks combined, behind the Premier League (598 million fans), with an average of 27.9 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF are the most popular Spanish club with 254 million fans, while FC Barcelona, second, with a total of more than 242 million, are ahead of the 2020-21 Spanish champions, Club Atlético de Madrid in third place with 31.5 million.

The Catalan club posted the best growth in absolute value during the month of September 2021 with a total of 1.1 million additional fans, including 81% on Instagram alone (+949,698 followers). Only Manchester United FC (+4.3 million) and Paris Saint-Germain (+1.6 million) performed better among the clubs playing in the European Top 5.
