"I criticise Paris Saint-Germain because they don't generate the money to have the squad they've got. This distorts competition in the European football economy. This does not correspond to real sponsorship. How can Paris Saint-Germain explain to us that they have a squad worth almost €600m? If they win Ligue 1, they won't earn more than €45m... It's impossible," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 07/10/2021.

"I invited the president of PSG (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi) and the president of the LFP (Vincent Labrune) to show them the figures we have and where the irregularities are. They didn't answer me. They are quick to criticise me, not to answer me," added the president of LaLiga.

"There is data which shows that it is not viable. Today, Paris Saint-Germain spends more than €500m on salaries, while there have been losses linked to Covid and the decline in TV rights in France. It is not feasible," said Javier Tebas, a month earlier, on 07/09/2021.
