MLS: Charlotte FC (expansion franchise) to recruit a player via a reality TV show

Charlotte FC, an expansion franchise that will join Major League Soccer starting in the 2022 season (see below), will recruit a player for its inaugural team through a reality TV show produced by Major League Soccer and US production company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television (MGM), announced the club on 06/10/2021.

Entitled "Welcome To The Team", the project's objective "to provide viewers unparalleled access into the journey of a group of soccer players from around the globe competing for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join Charlotte FC during the inaugural season in 2022. Hardcore soccer fans will have a rare and exclusive look behind the scenes as they experience rigorous training through elite-level drills and face intense competition in games. Based on the results, players will be eliminated from consideration at the end of episodes before a group of finalists reach the season finale where one player will be awarded a spot to play for Charlotte FC," explained the franchise.
