UEFA: associations wishing to host Euro 2028 have until 23/03/2022 to express interest

UEFA national member associations interested in hosting Euro 2028 have until 23/03/2022 to express their interest. The designation of the host (or hosts) will take place in September 2023, according to the European body on 12/10/2021.

UEFA did not mention FIFA's project for a biennial World Cup, according to which the first World Cup to be held in a leap year could be scheduled for 2028, two years after the 23^rd World Cup (USA, Canada, Mexico).

Euro 2028 is expected to consist of 51 matches and 24 teams, as has been the case for the last two editions (in France in 2016, then in 11 European countries in 2021) as well as for the next one, scheduled for Germany in 2024. "Joint bids are permitted, provided that the bidding countries are geographically compact," said UEFA.

According to UEFA, "interested parties will need to provide 10 stadiums, with the following capacities:
⚽️ Minimum of 1 stadium with at least 60,000 net seating capacity;
⚽️ Minimum of 1 stadium, preferably 2 stadiums, with at least 50,000 net seating capacity;
